Mobotix Solutions Partner
Davenport are a Solutions
Provider for Mobotix AG. We are one of only three companies in the UK to
have achieved this highest level of recognition. Since the first
introduction of Mobotix IP cameras into the UK, Davenport has worked as an Advanced
Technology Partner to this world leader in high resolution video
surveillance systems. Proudly, we are the only UK partner to work
exclusively with Mobotix cameras; choosing to embed them into our own
automated surveillance products and systems.
In a very short space of
time Mobotix has achieved second place in Europe and fourth place
worldwide in terms of market share in this emerging
technology. High Resolution IP Video is without doubt the future of
surveillance. CCTV as we know it today is a dying industry. Davenport
recognised the potential of this new technology in 2002, realising that
the IP video and audio streams provided by Mobotix cameras over high
speed networks were a natural addition to the company's regular
engineering activities in remote control and alarming,
unmanned digital surveillance and IP Telemetry.
From the merging of
these two distinct technologies, Davenport has developed a unique range
of surveillance products that provide Detection
Before Intrusion capability and Automated Intrusion
Deterrent functionality.
Why Use High-Resolution Systems?
The answer is simple! The higher the resolution, the more
detail is in the image. Gone are the
days of "Do you recognise this man?"
when presented with a blurred,
fuzzy, black and white image. Using
traditional technology, a
live image has no more than 0.4
megapixels and a recorded image only
has 0.1 megapixels (CIF). On the
contrary, a Mobotix camera with 3.1
megapixels records around 30 times
more detail! As a result, larger
image areas with up to 360° panorama
are possible, thus reducing the
number of cameras and therefore the
costs. For example, four lanes of a
gas station can be recorded using
one Mobotix camera instead of four
conventional cameras.

Out
with the old…
“Let’s face it, analogue
CCTV is a sunset industry”

“Eight out of ten
standard CCTV images offer no help in solving crimes”
The Times, October 2007
“Poor CCTV shots
of suspects hamper police”

“Criminals caught on

out-dated CCTV equipment, say police”
Security Oracle, August 2007
…and in with the
new!
"A
man caught burglars raiding his £600,000 house when his home
security system sent digital images to his laptop computer
as he holidayed in Spain. John Ellison, 52, from Lancaster,
was alerted to the intruders by an automatic call to his
mobile phone. By logging on to his digital CCTV system he
managed to see men turn his house upside down before calling
police and watching their arrests live.”
BBC News, 14th September 2006
“Digital CCTV
equipment at one of the UK's largest schools and adult
education centres has led to significant reductions in
vandalism, and improvements in security management”

"It
is extremely effective - we have been running 50 arrests per
month as a direct result of this new system.”
Chief Inspector Brian Lawton from Greater Manchester Police
“Include
exactly what you want to see and where e.g.
recognise the face of someone walking through a
doorway, read a vehicle registration number, or
record a particular activity, such as walking across
a room, exchange of money, or an assault.”
